PT 141 Injections

Bremelanotide (PT-141) is a generic term for a new medication which has shown promise in effectively treating sexual dysfunction in men (erectile dysfunction or impotence) as well as sexual dysfunction in women (sexual arousal disorder). It was developed from Melanotan 2 (MT-II), which is researched as a sunless tanning agent. PT-141 is a metabolite of MT-II that lacks the C-terminal amide function-stripping away tanning properties.

Bremelanotide works through a mechanism of action involving the central nervous system rather than directly on the vascular system. As a result, it may offer significant safety and efficacy benefits over currently available products.

Bremelanotide has the amino acid sequence Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH or cyclo-[Nle4, Asp5, D-Phe7, Lys10]alpha-MSH-(4-10). It is a cyclic hepta-peptide lactam analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) that activates the melanocortin receptors MC3-R and MC4-R in the central nervous system. Molecular formula being C50H68N14O10 and a molecular weight of 1025.2.

Mixing

Combine 10mg Pt-141 freeze dried powder with 1mL/100units of bacteriostatic or sterile water, yielding a solution of 1mg PT-141 for every 10units of liquid. Make every effort to maintain a sterile environment while mixing the product.

Prefilling

To make this easier, get some insulin syringes - they are usually measured in generic "units". 100 units = 1mL. Recommended Needle: 29-31 gauge X 1/2?, 1 CC (100 unit). That is a typical insulin needle. Prefill the syringes to the desired dosage (see dosage chart below) you will need until all the liquid Pt-141is gone from the vial.

Storage

Now freeze the filled syringes that are not being injected immediately. Do not freeze the mixed PT-141 without prefilling the syringes - you degrade the quality of the peptide every time you unfreeze it.

For the rest of the PT-141, do not add mixing water until you are ready to use it. Store the undiluted product in the freezer until you mix in the water, then prefill again and freeze as described above.

When to Administer?

Most find great results if administered hours before you desire the product to take effect. PT-141, injected, has a unique window of opportunity lasting six to 72 hours.
